Boy. you hit the nail on the head there. Jason Bishop was the leading scorer in the state his senior year, and would not have seen the pines if not for TS' coach Lee Clark. The head coach for the west wasn't at all interested in putting Jason in until Lee pleaded his cause. I think the single A coach should have as much say-so as the AAA coach in games like that.

Its a Rolex Platnium Presidential. With the amount of diamonds it has, Id say its about a 50-60K watch.

Would be nice if Mr. Clark was still the general of the big Red Army

Yeah, he was and still is a class act. One of the darkest days in CD history was when he left for greener pastures. Two coaches I'd love to see back in the CD are Lee Clark and Donnie Qualls.

Lee was actually the head coach that year. If it had not been for Lee Clark and Dave Bentley, Jason would not have even been on the team. When they got to the selection meeting, there was not a nomination form for Jason. They quickly filled one out and pushed for his selection.

Not a surprise there Sportsman. Some RC coaches tend to have their head up their butts with junk like that. Heck, my baseball coach tried putting in a form for me my junior year, but I told him it was for seniors only. Then, he neglected to send in one the next year. If you're not from east of Roanoke OR your name isn't Robbins, you're trash.

i know that was meant as sarcasm, and while those west of roanoke aren't "trash" per se, we definitely are not on the same level as the Tidewater area...there's a pretty big gap too

save the exceptions such as the Jones brothers, JHam, Chad Beasley and Jake Houseright...but for the 1 D1 prospect in 10 years we get around here they get 30-40 each year...and as far as basketball goes the difference is even bigger

Yeah but wouldnt you say population has something to do with that. Its like saying that a few counties in FL makes the tidewater look like a pop warner league. For the small amount of people in the area, the D1 talent has been pretty respectable. Exposure has a lot to do with it also, I know in baseball that is 100% the case.
